7th Short Audio Drama Competition
Since 2020, Hörspielsommer e. V. has been organising a Short Audio Play Competition to accompany the festival. The competition is aimed at all friends of short listening pleasures: you can submit your plays via our entry form until 1 February 2026.
There is no age limit for participants. Audio pieces (including radio plays, sound collages or features) with a length of up to 3 minutes can be submitted. There is no specific theme or motto.
As part of Germany’s largest audio drama festival, the 24th Leipziger Hörspielsommer, a selection of the best entries will be presented to the public in July 2026. The audience will choose three winners during the festival.
On the weekend of the competition, a network gathering will be organised for all participants to get to know each other and exchange ideas. The Hörspielsommer e. V. would like to offer unknown, semi-professional and professional audio play authors, directors and producers a platform to present their work and thus promote the diversity and vitality of the radio play landscape.
